Linen Care
-
Check the care label for specific washing temperature recommendations.
-
Wash dark or colored linens separately from white or off-white pieces to prevent color transfer.
-
Linen is a natural fiber that absorbs a lot of water and can crease easily in the wash. To minimize this, avoid overloading the machine—wash with plenty of space, ideally only half-full.
-
Do not use bleach, as it weakens linen fibers and may alter the color of dyed fabrics.
-
Avoid conventional detergents with bleach particles, which can cause natural linen colors to fade. Always use mild, gentle detergents.
-
Choose a gentle cycle with a longer soak, shorter wash/rinse, and light spin. Wash at a moderate to cool temperature.
-
Once the cycle is finished, remove items promptly to help reduce creasing.
-
Gently stretch and smooth out the fabric while damp to restore shape.
-
Air dry, line dry, or dry flat.
Avoid tumble drying, as high heat can cause up to 10% shrinkage and permanent creasing, shortening the lifespan of your linen.
